Description: A non-profit corporation funded in large part by the
Legal Services Corporation and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to
provide free legal help to low income persons, individuals and groups.
Advocates provide representation on a broad range of civil matters
including custody, housing, SSI, bankruptcy, consumer, and protection
from abuse. In addition to direct representation, clients are also
helped through telephone advice, pro bono and Judicare
attorneys, pro se packets and self-help clinics.
Target population: Low-income persons
Age Range: any
Eligibility requirements: Clients eligibility is determined after
process that involves income and resource computations with
consideration of some employment and other
expenses. Generally income must be under 125% of the federal poverty
level after the computations are completed.
Location: Williamsport, but can meet in Lock Haven
Days/Times: M-F 8:30am-4:30pm; closed 12pm-1pm for lunch
