- Road to Recovery
For those in need of treatment for cancer and related illnesses. Provides transportation to and from the treatment facility and session.
Eligibility: Patient must have an appointment to begin/complete cancer treatment. Must be able to walk unassisted or be accompanied by an aid. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal adult/caregiver. A four day notice is required.
- Reach to Recovery
Provides support to individuals who are facing breast cancer, considering or having reconstruction, experiencing lymphedema, or undergoing treatment. This support group offers comfort and the opportunity to have emotional grounding and informed decision making. A safe, comfortable environment where any concerns, questions, emotions, or fears can be discussed with well-informed individuals.
Eligibility: Individuals suffering from breast cancer and its symptoms.
- Tender Loving Care(TLC)
They offer products for women coping with the side effects of cancer treatment specifically relating to hair loss and advice on how to use the products. They sell affordable wigs, hats, turbans, bras, swimwear, etc. in the privacy of women’s homes.
- Look Good Feel Better
A 2 hour group workshop with a demonstration of the 12 step skin care/makeup program. They offer advice on the options of hair loss products and clothing suggestions. Given by licensed beauty professionals. Individual workshops are available as well. They also have a free 30 minute DVD with similar information provided.
Cost: Free to patients suffering with cancer and its side effects.
- I Can Cope Online
Free online educational program for people facing cancer. They offer self-paced classes on a wide range of topics that can be watching whenever and however many times necessary. Topics include: Learning about cancer, understanding cancer treatments, nutrition during treatment, etc.
